A Good Host
An essential part of your website is a host that lets your site do what it is supposed to do. It's important that your site is available on the internet with any down time being minimal as well as delivering fast page load speeds. You want a host that works in the background so that you don't notice it being there.
You want a host that fits your needs space and feature wise. You also want to ensure that your hosting has it's servers in the geographical location you have your business. This can even affect your listings in the search engines, so it is worth thinking a little about your primary potential audience.
Of course before your website enters the design phase we will recommend a service we think fits the bill and lives up to their rhetoric!
Hosting, what's that?
If you are scratching your head as to what is being talked about here, let me explain.
In order for your website to function it must have a server that can be accessed by everyone who wishes to view your site. No use having it in the files on your own pc. It must be resident on a servers files out on the internet. Once someone requests your website, the files out there will show up in their browser. Of course this service isn't free, but doesn't cost much.
Also important is a domain which usually takes the form of www.yourdomain.com. You can have .co.uk or i.e and so on. This name is then registered and only you can use it. Again there is a cost but it is even smaller than the above.
For hosting you can pay anything from £35 a year upwards. Cost depends on features needed for your site. A domain costs around £10 a year.
We recommend you set up your own account so that you have full control over your files etc.
For those who are a bit unsure about all this account set up stuff, we can of course look after that for you without you having to think about it and will bill you yearly for the cost.
Currently we charge £25. This charge is not included in our package pricing and must be added to our package cost.

SEO - Search Engine Optimisation (Website marketing)
Some people think that getting a website on Google's first result page can be done by purchasing the right product or service. You just have to click a few buttons and that's it. Unfortunately, that's not possible.
If it was that easy to get high rankings on Google then everybody could get high rankings. However, it's obvious that only some websites will make it to Google's first result page and Google chooses these websites carefully.
That's why you have to do the right things if you want to outrank your competitors. We currently code seo into all our websites automatically which allows your site to get a great position in the search engines.
If you can't be found what is the point of having a website?
When thinking about your website it is a good idea to try and fit your keywords into your domain name. This has obvious space and brand issues but is worth thinking about. You can gain a giant step up against your competitors by doing so.
If you'd like to be found under a specific search we can program your website to be picked up under these searches e.g. if you are a builder in Mullingar we can program your web site so it will be found under "builder mullingar".
SEO changes all the time but an essential feature is updating websites with link pages. These are an excellent way of increasing your ratings and traffic - but you have to link to relevant web sites! We can provide you with a CMS where you can simply enter in the web address and it will update to your website instantly. Let us know you are interested in this facility. We will give you a few pointers to set you on your way.
Please bear in mind that seo is not instant and takes time. Depending on the keywords you are targeting it can take months! While we do our best to give you a great head start you could enlist the services of a dedicated seo professional. That said depending on your target market and your product this might not be necessary. Again just bring this up when talking to us and we'll advise what we think you should do.
CMS - Content Management Solutions
Content management solutions are just that, a solution that allows you as website owner to login to your website and change text, images etc.
We find the requests 'simple' and 'straight forward' are usually on most people's lips.
So here's an example of what you can expect:

No CMS
If you feel like the last thing you wish to do is update a website then this option is for you.
Just send us an email and we'll have simple updates done within one working day.
If your update is small and can be done within a couple of minutes then we'll probably do it for free e.g. if you had a phone number you needed changing.
Further and more involved changes are charged at £25 per hour.
